Calling all singers: we want to hear your voice!
The Fresno State Gospel Choir Club, organized by the Department of Africana Studies, is now holding a university wide talent search for up to 15 new voices.
The Fresno State Gospel Choir was formed in the 1970s to introduce performances of a variety of inspirational songs reflecting the African American cultural experience. The Gospel Choir will perform several times a year on campus and across the Valley, both during organized concerts as well as campus and community events. Gospel Choir singers will also make a number of non-performing appearances in representation of Fresno State.
The Gospel Choir Club is now accepting digital audition submissions and there are only seven criteria to join:
- Must be a current Fresno State student
- Must love to sing!
- Must be willing to develop your voice
- Must be a team player
- Must be serious about professionalism and the creative arts
- Must be available for all club rehearsals and meetings
- Must be available for all performances, both university and community
To audition, simply record yourself singing for one minute and include your name, major and a short statement about what music means to you. Submissions should be sent as a video or MP3 file to csufgospelchoirclub@gmail.com. The deadline has been extended to Tuesday, Jan. 16
Singers selected for callbacks will be notified via email and invited to attend an orientation.
Don’t miss this opportunity to join a new club, develop your talent and represent your university, all while doing what you love to do — sing!
